What Medicaid usually doesn't cover

Medicaid is for health care. It doesn't usually pay for household items, electronics, store memberships or care it doesn't consider medically necessary. Our guides explain what's possible for tablets, diapers and memberships.

Check your own benefits

  1. Read your member handbook.
  2. Call the number on your card.
  3. Ask whether approval is needed before care.
  4. Choose in-network providers.
  5. Appeal in writing if something is denied.
